#04 ✨✨Yay! 2024 has come with exciting vibes, fashion styling and beauty tips.
That is my first newsletter of the year, I am excited to catch up with you about my go-to in 2024 and how we are connected in!
Happy New Year!
In 2023 I experienced some of the most intense and important months of my life. I moved from São Paulo, Brazil to London, UK with my partner and our pets to start a new life alone and full of hope.
When I summarise it like that, it sounds easy and smooth, right? Well, it wasn't! There were some bureaucratic setbacks along the way that made my life difficult and I had to spend some time without my partner. He came to London and I arrived about 45 days later. The distance caused me a great deal of longing and anxiety, knowing that he was here alone at one of the most important moments in our lives.
At the end of the year we reaped the fruits of so much resilience and we are together and ready to welcome what 2024 has to bring.
May the New Year bring you many blessings from God, joyful moments and success in all that you set out to do!
In today's newsletter I bring you a little of my experience in Paris, a recap of the world of fashion in 2023 and my tips for making peace with your personal image in 2024. This edition is a little more personal than usual, but I promise it will deliver quality and connection between us. :)

FASHION BRAND OF THE YEAR:
For the first time, Miu Miu has taken the top spot in Lyst's quarterly ranking of the hottest brands in fashion. Helmed by one of the most influential women in the industry, Miuccia Prada, the Italian fashion house has seen many of its directional pieces go viral this year, such as the super mini tailored skirt and the ballet flat comeback of 2023. And the latter is my favourite fashion comeback, also a Miu Miu legacy for 2023.
SHOES OF THE YEAR
The Adidas Samba was clearly the coach of the year, wouldn't you say? Inspired by football, the Samba was first introduced to the German national team for the 1950 World Cup in Brazil. After a year-long hiatus, the Adidas Samba found its way onto the feet of digital influencers in Northern Europe and now inhabits the streets of practically every continent, maybe because it's comfortable and clean looking, maybe because it's cool. I particularly love them and have a classic white pair to match my casual looks. It allows me to look polished without having to suffer in heels or uncomfortable shoes.
DIOR GALLERY
During my trip to Paris, I had the opportunity to visit the DIOR Museum and it was one of the most exciting experiences of my life! For many people, a museum dedicated to the fashion history of a haute couture brand might seem frivolous, even pointless, but for someone like me, who breathes the world of fashion and has spent years studying it, entering the museum is like entering one of the most brilliant minds in the world!
In the 1950s, Christian Dior was responsible for the creation of the A-line skirt, a timeless classic that democratised the female silhouette. During the exhibition, I learnt that he was inspired by the lifestyle of French women at the time for his creations, which were always feminine, elegant, with a striking and romantic presence.
I have to admit that I like the brand's handbags, but I'm much more a fan of the clothes, because I see Dior as a haute couture label that has a special way of looking at women.
Entrance to the museum is free and must be booked in advance. You can book here, and I recommend booking weeks or months in advance!
Oh, at the exit of the museum there is a branded stationery shop and a café, the latter of which is worthy of the Dior experience.
BY 2024, ALLOW YOURSELF A LITTLE MORE KINDNESS.
My psychotherapist once said to me: "You take such good care of Zeca (my dog), you look after him so well, but you're so bad at taking care of yourself! This was a few years ago and it made a lasting impression on me because she said it during a conversation in which we were discussing my lack of self-care. At the time I was eating takeaways, I was eating a lot of sweets, I was sleeping very badly because I had insomnia and I was having a lot of anxiety attacks. I really needed to be more respectful and kind to myself.
Okay, it was a time when we were going through the pandemic and it was hard to look inward when the world was falling apart outside. But I decided to take back control of my life and I changed that scenario and it reflected on my life from the inside out. Why am I talking about this? Because I want you to take back control of your life this year so that it reflects on your image, the way you are perceived by others and by yourself.
As care needs to be taken from the inside out, and I am not a therapist or doctor, I am not going to give you health tips, but rather tips on how to bring out in your personal styling the strong, beautiful and confident woman that you are (if you don't already feel this way, try following the saying: dress for the person you want to be, not the person you are).
IN 2024...
Plan your outfit for the day, for work, for picking up the kids from school or for studying: this will prepare you to dress with intention. What's your intention? You decide! We are much more confident when we use tools that give us a sense of security, comfort and suitability for the social context in which we find ourselves. Try to organise yourself to plan outfits for the whole week, but if that's not possible, try planning every other day.
Take care of your body: hydrate, eat well and make time for self-care rituals that bring comfort and well-being.
Take care of your skin and hair: personal image is not just about what we wear, but how we carry ourselves and present ourselves to the world. That's why well-moisturised skin and healthy hair help you create a consistent and sophisticated personal style.
Invest in clothes, shoes and accessories that will become the heroes of your wardrobe. The idea is to have items that make you feel good when you wear them, that comfort piece that gives you the confidence to face any occasion. For me, these special items are kitten heels, third piece vests and chunky jewellery.
Take care of what you already have in your wardrobe. You know those woollen jumpers and coats that are pitted from rubbing against your skin or the quality of the fabric? Well, that's just one example of items we have around the house that need to be renewed without having to replace them. My tip for you is to buy a spot remover like the one I have and use it regularly to keep the fabric of your clothes looking as good as new. And if you have items that need repairs to the fabric or leather, take them to a seamstress or shoemaker to salvage what you can.
It may not be a statement of style, but the click is a step in the fashion direction:
