Is there such a thing as the perfect sandal for summer? And what would that be? Come find out and make your Sunday afternoon even more enjoyable.
Hello, dear reader.
Inspired by my suitcase packing, today I'm bringing you professional tips on how to choose the ideal flat sandal to enjoy the summer and some advice on where to buy them.

Let's take a look at what I've got today, shall we?
CHOOSING YOUR SUMMER FLAT SANDALS
With so many options on the market, it can be difficult to choose the ideal flat sandal to suit your taste and purpose, so I've brought you some tips to help you make your purchase and use what you already have in your wardrobe - after all, the most sustainable purchase is the one you can make in your wardrobe!
KEEP IT NEUTRAL BUT COOLER
A timeless model that adapts to different styles and lifestyles is classic neutrals such as black, beige or off-white. White doesn't fall into this category because it's a colour that comes into the look and, depending on its undertone and combination of colours and textures, can outshine the clothes.
But that doesn't mean it has to be boring just because it's neutral, does it? Minimalist designs with a few thin straps remind me a lot of French women's style when they want to replace the use of trainers.
Pair them with jeans and a T-shirt, a linen outfit or a romantic dress - how about a wrap dress with subtle ruffles? And if you're a fan of adding structure to your look for a more serious feel, team your minimalist flat with a linen blazer, structured bag and polished hairstyle.
THE FLAT SANDAL CAN STANDS OUT
Your flat sandal can also be the protagonist of the look or an important adjunct. To do this, choose a colourful one in a very high summer tone, such as green, tangerine, raspberry, with a more creative texture, such as raffia, woven, or a model with embellishments on top.
I like the idea of flashy sandals for days when my mood is sunny, like a summer's day in Spain, so I can express my joy, confidence and sense of fun.
And like me, you don't have to be a super outgoing person to be part of the club of those who like colour and texture in their outfits. In small doses you can express your personality and authenticity.
MAKING THE RIGHT BUY:
In my style consultations, I always teach my clients some important tricks and questions to ask before making a purchase, especially an impulse purchase, and I give them study material that will help them throughout their lives.
And if you subscribe to my newsletter, you get special attention too, so here are some of my tips:
Buy genuine leather flats rather than polyurethane or other synthetic materials. I know the idea of buying animal products is not a pleasant one, and I'm speaking from a vegan background and have not included red meat in my diet for over ten years.
Sandals are a type of footwear that are easily damaged around the edges and, if they are of dubious origin, they shouldn't last more than five uses, whereas leather shoes are more resistant to tarmac and maintain their quality for years.
What's more, quality is something you can see from a mile away, and if you value a polished and refined image, you'll know you've made the right choice.
Choose a design style that matches at least five bottoms and three tops in your wardrobe. That way you know your purchase will be used continuously and in a variety of ways.
If possible, buy in a shop so you can try them on and feel the comfort. For example, I like the ones with a lightly padded insole because I wear my sandals for hours at a time when I'm out exploring the city. One with a straight sole would cause me pain at the end of the day.
Don't stick to your usual shoe size, because with open-toed shoes this can vary upwards, as ideally there should be a little space around the edge of the sandal when you're wearing it. Try more than one size or, if you are shopping online, find out your foot size and buy a size that leaves 0.2 millimetres to spare.
WHERE YO BUY
1 - Brown thin strap flat sandal / 2 - Green flat sandal with gold details / 3 - Minimalist beige flat sandal / 4 - Rattan orange flower sandal / 5 - Fisherman style flat sandal
It may not be a statement of style, but the click is a step in the fashion direction:
β¨ A French bakery in London that I want to visit and the chef is renowned.
β¨ A model of flat shoe that I'm in love with. Itβs from a spanish brand.
β¨ A tip for romantic lovers: bows to decorate your home and table.
